As I mentioned before it’s very expensive to get people active by putting on 12 weeks of free activities, but on top of that you’re probably finding you don’t have capacity to do it any more.
Even when you have coaches and instructors delivering the sessions it’s still very time consuming to organise them all.
It used to be that as long as there was budget for delivery the sports development team could coordinate it all. This was when sports development teams were bigger and had capacity, but nowadays it’s becoming more strategic, and there isn’t the capacity to coordinate all these sessions.
There is an alternative – Engagement Campaigns get hard-to-reach groups (women and girls, people from lower socio-economic groups and over 65s) into existing activity sessions and keep them active.
