Would it be helpful to get advice on your marketing from top marketing experts around the world?
We asked seven marketing experts why they use Facebook Ads as part of their marketing.
You’ll hear from String – a marketing consultant who builds marketing systems, Max – a marketing agency owner, Chris – a martial arts academy owner, Bunty – a Facebook Ads marketing consultant, Jason – a Facebook ads marketer, Steve who runs Facebook Ad campaigns for Cross Fit gyms in Australia and Nathan – the marketing officer for East Staffordshire Borough Council.
We found their insights really valuable, and I think you will too.
Here’s what they had to say.
Bunty SomRoy
Bunty is a marketing consultant specialising in Facebook Ads. He runs Code Forest Marketing.
“Facebook Ads can benefit 95% of businesses out there to serve a variety of purposes: to get leads, to close sales, to promote new products to your current customer base, etc. Regardless of what your goal is, it can be an effective channel for the reasons listed below (the last one covers a quick and effective win)…
“It’s where your fans are hanging out. Some of them may check Facebook more than your email. Use this to reach them in a new way.
“You can implement a new idea FAST. If you’re offering a new product/service, you can throw an ad together relatively quickly to validate ideas.
“You get Instant feedback. You’ll start getting data within a few days of starting a campaign.
“You have control over the budget. Turn up what works, turn off what doesn’t. You can test with as little as $5 per day.
To achieve predictability. Eventually you’ll know exactly how much ROI you’ll get with every dollar spent.”
Chris Bartlett
Chris runs Freestyle Martial Arts Watford – they’re the fastest growing martial arts academy I’ve ever seen. In less than a year they’ve added another 70 members, and are opening their second academy this month.
“Facebook Ads are the easiest and fastest way to target your target audience. The cheapest way to share your message.
“1/3 of people’s time when using their phone is spent on Facebook. We need to be where people are.”

String Nikolic
String is a highly sought after marketing consultant, he builds marketing systems for businesses to allow them to automate their marketing.
“Facebook ads are the fastest way to test and compare what is working and what isn’t.
“Typically when we launch new ads we set the budget to $30-50 per day to display 3 ads. Over the course of a week we will have enough data on which image is performing, stop the non-performing images, tweak the copy for performing ads to test further, then allocate the advertising budget for the new ads based on the performing ad.
“We lose money on ads on the front end, however we track how much an average person spends once they are on our list and we recoup that ad spend well within the first month. Facebook ads are profitable for us while growing our list at the same time.”
Max Hardy
Max runs 10x Travel, an innovative and cutting-edge marketing agency for the travel industry.
“Studies show that if you’re a business with 10,000 fans then only about 600 people will see your post in their newsfeed without paid promotion. There’s no room for ROI (Return on Investment) with those stats.
“Facebook Ads give you a relatively inexpensive and pain-free way to reach new audiences.
“I tell my customers Facebook Ads is truly the single largest opportunity for tour operators and travel agents in 2017. But that’s also true for all sorts of businesses in the leisure space – including fitness businesses.”

Jason Malone
Jason is a Facebook Ads marketer, and has been responsible for tens of thousands of pounds in profitable Facebook Ad campaigns. He’s run more tests on what kind of Facebook ads are effective than anyone else I know.
“The ability to target a certain audience so specifically isn’t really available anywhere else, so that’s a huge benefit.
“Also being able to engage with this specific audience in such a “native” way through the FB platform is great. Ads are very similar to organic content in users feeds, so with the right strategy it makes the funnel from initial engagement to conversion very natural and smooth.
“The potential for then scaling spend on winning campaigns is also a nice benefit. One of my favourite things about the platform.”
Steve Forrester
Steve is running some of the cleverest Facebook Ad campaigns that I’ve come across. Amongst other things he runs Facebook Ad campaigns for Cross Fit gyms in Australia, getting them more enquiries. He’s someone I’ve learnt a huge amount from.
“It allows me to build a relationship with my desired audience using paid advertising. Rapidly speeding up the time to reach new people and acquire new customers.”
Nathan Gallagher
Nathan is the Shared Services Marketing Officer for East Staffordshire Borough Council. He’s been running Facebook Ad campaigns for the council since January 2016 and is getting great results.
“Facebook and online advertising has become a increasingly important part of our strategy. We use Facebook to drive actions from the audiences we have targeted, be that sign ups or online bookings. As people’s social media consumption has increased, we felt it was important to have an increased profile to engage with prospective customers, in the form of paid for advertising.”
