Lucy Tomlinson, the Kent Running Activator at Kent Sport asked me to run two marketing workshops for her run leaders.
I developed these workshops based on our existing sports club marketing workshops, and updated them based on what we’ve learnt from recent campaigns and what Lucy felt the run leaders needed.
The workshops were designed to help the run leaders get more members for their running groups, without spending any money!
I explained how to use the following to get more runners in their groups:
- Facebook (5 different Facebook techniques)
- Google Places
- Change4Life and NHS Activity Search tools
- Email newsletters
- SMS reminders
About 15-20 people attended each workshop, and they both got great feedback from the run leaders. The first one got 9.5/10 and the second one got 9.9/10.
Run leaders who attended the first workshop have already seen some great results. People have implemented the tactics, increased their membership, and are now sharing their successes with other leaders across Kent.
Each of the workshops cost £750+ VAT, which includes travel costs and a surcharge for them being on a Saturday.
