Recently, we published our redesigned homepage, that we’ve been working on over the past few weeks. We’d looked at the statistics on Google Analytics and had found that the most popular parts of our website were the Services and the Our Work sections. However our homepage was focused on explaining who we were rather than explaining what services we offered and what work we’d done.

Our new homepage is now much more visual and it gives examples of our work. We’ve currently got 3 quotes up that highlight the three types of projects we do most often.

Marketing campaigns – example is a marketing campaign we ran for NHS Greenwich which increased participation amongst over 50s by 250 people.

Research and insight – example is a project we’re running for Macmillan to understand how to promote activity to cancer survivors.

Training workshops – example is 3 training workshops we ran for Transport for London about how to increase the effectiveness of your marketing materials through how you write.

We think that’s made it easier for people visiting our site to see how we can get them great results through our services, and how we’ve done that for others before.

Our new homepage also loads faster as we’ve taken the form off the homepage. The form was there to allow people to sign up for our Free Introduction to Marketing Activity, and is still on other pages of the site, but it was slowing the homepage load time too much, so we’ve removed that now.

Created in partnership between the Greater London Authority (GLA), NHS London and Interactive, „Inclusive and Active 2‟ aims to build on the success and profile of the first ‘Inclusive and Active‟. The strategy will increase the number of disabled people participating in sport and physical activity, change perceptions of how disabled people can maintain an active lifestyle and embed inclusion within mainstream sport and physical activity.

“Inclusive and Active 2‟ is now available to download on all three co-owner websites.

The fabulous Inclusive Fitness Initiative has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Directory of Social Change Awards 2009. There were over 300 entries with three finalists being shortlisted in each of the four awards category .

The IFI is a finalist in the ‘Influencer Award’ category. The award recognises an organisation or individual who has campaigned for change by getting several groups to work together to achieve what may appear impossible. The award acknowledges the determination and hard work required to communicate clearly, put forth a persuasive argument and win people over to bring about positive change.

They need your support to help them win the award as well as further recognise the achievements of IFI Mark Accredited facilities and the work carried out within the fitness industry to get more disabled people active and change people’s lives for the better.

To show your support please click here to vote and rank the IFI as first in the category.

The voting closes on Friday 6 November 2009 and the winners will be announced at the Social Change Awards Ceremony on Thursday 26 November 2009 in London.

Take part in the ‘Memory Marathon’

On Saturday November 7th 2009, artist Simon Pope will walk a 26 mile route around the five Olympic host boroughs. Over 100 local people will accompany him along short sections of the route, sharing their personal memories of the Olympics and Paralympics. The whole event will be filmed and shown in art galleries/cinemas and on YouTube.

You may have watched the Olympics from your sofa or even a stadium seat. Whatever you remember, we invite YOU to share it with 103 other people on film.

Could YOU take part?

You don’t have to be a sports person or anyone special to take part. We are open to ALL types of memories. All we ask is that you live or work in one of the five boroughs; Greenwich & Lower Lea Valley, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest.

Why take part?

Young People: get work experience (take part in a professional film), be part of a team, be a leader, have a laugh, meet new people from your area, share your stories and star in a film!

Adults: share your knowledge, capture your memories, meet new people, share it with your children and grandchildren.

Its easy to get involved:

Contact them to reserve your place at the Final Rehearsal on Thursday Nov 5th and remember to put the date of filming – Saturday Nov 7th – in your diary.

Just send an email with your name and phone number marked ‘Pass The Baton!’ to Mel & Anna, the Participation Co-ordinators at: passthebaton@me.com or send a text with your name saying, ‘Pass the Baton!’ to: 07957 433 234.

‘Memory Marathon’ is commissioned by the Olympic Delivery Authority, conceived and produced by Film and Video Umbrella (www.fvu.co.uk) and is funded by The London Development Agency and Arts Council England.
